25 May 2021 – Nashville, Tenn – Provident Entertainment is proud to announce Elevation Worship‘s double win at the Billboard Music Awards. Elevation Worship was awarded Top Christian Artist and Top Christian Song for “Graves Into Gardens (feat. Brandon Lake).” The BBMA’s, which honor the year’s most successful artists in 51 categories across all genres of music, were announced Sunday live from Los Angeles by dick clark productions and NBC. “It’s an absolute honor to have won two BBMAs,” share Elevation Worship’s Chris Brown. “Receiving these particular awards really shows the reach and impact the songs are having, and we’re so grateful to everyone who’s listening to and being encouraged by our music.” Going into the awards, Provident Entertainment was nominated for 15 BBMA’s. Elevation Worship, Koryn Hawthorne, and Zach Williams each received three nominations, while Kirk Franklin, Casting Crowns, Kierra Sheard, Tauren Wells, Mali Music, and Marvin Sapp each received one nomination.

Announced via the official K-LOVE Fan Awards website, the Provident family celebrates three nominations for Zach Williams and Elevation Worship,Tauren Wells receives two nods, and CAIN, CastingCrowns, Kirk Franklin, Leanna Crawford, and Matthew West each receive one nomination. Additionally, West will return as the evening’s host.

11 May 2021 – Nashville, TN – Old Church Basement, the collaborative album from GRAMMY®-nominated and Billboard No. 1 worship groups Elevation Worship and Maverick City Music has made history, setting a new worldwide record for the most first-day streams for a Christian and Gospel album on Apple Music. Additionally, on Spotify, the 13-song project broke the U.S. record for the most streams in a day for an album by a Christian group and was No. 4 out of all U.S. albums its first weekend of release. It also tops both Billboard’s Christian and Gospel Album charts and ranks at No. 31 on its Top 200 Overall chart.
Old Church Basement, released April 30, is a powerful collection that aims to bring listeners back to a pure place of worship and features vocals from Chandler Moore, Brandon Lake, Naomi Raine, Chris Brown, Dante Bowe, Tiffany Hudson, Joe L Barnes, and Amanda Lindsey Cook. Zach Williams (Provident Label Group) won for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “There Was Jesus,” his duet with Dolly Parton, which he also co-wrote. Williams won his first GRAMMY in 2018 for his album Chain Breaker.
Essential Music Publishing writer Jonathan Smith received his second GRAMMY as co-writer of “There Was Jesus.” He won his first GRAMMY in 2018 as producer for Chain Breaker.
Mali Music (RCA Inspiration) won for Best Gospel Performance/Song with “Movin’ On” with Jonathan McReynolds. This is Mali Music’s first GRAMMY win with four career nominations.

Nashville, TN (March 5, 2021) – RCA Inspiration & Provident Entertainment are recognizing Women’s History Month for March, rolling out a slate of releases supporting female artists throughout the month. Highlighting a powerful group of fresh hitmakers, the label kicks off its first release with a double feature on March 5th, pairing the voices of Koryn Hawthorne and R&B artist Queen Naija, on the new track from Koryn Hawthorne, “Speak To Me (Queen Mix)” feat. Queen Naija.
Releasing on March 19th, a new recording between R&B star H.E.R. and Tauren Wells, who have collaborated on her song “Hold Us Together.” Originally a solo song by H.E.R. featured from the Disney+ film “Safety,” Wells joins H.E.R. to duet on the inspiring new single, in the co-artist release H.E.R. x Tauren Wells “Hold Us Together (Hope Mix).”
Also on March 19th, the album from Kierra Sheard, KIERRA (Deluxe), will be available for pre-order. The deluxe edition will feature five new songs plus the original fifteen songs from her latest hit album.

- Netflix Buys Dennis Quaid Movie ‘Blue Miracle’ (VARIETY EXCLUSIVE)
Netflix has acquired “Blue Miracle,” the Dennis Quaid film formerly known as “On the Line.”
Based on a true story, “Blue Miracle” centers on Casa Hogar, a Mexican orphanage that was struggling to survive after Hurricane Odile hit in 2014. On the brink of bankruptcy, the residents enter the world’s biggest fishing tournament in hopes of winning the prize money to save their home.
Along with Quaid, the cast includes Raymond Cruz, Anthony Gonzalez, Jimmy Gonzales, Dana Wheeler-Nicholson, Fernanda Urrejola and Bruce McGill.
The streaming service has not set a release date yet.
Julio Quintana, whose credits include the 2016 Martin Sheen drama “The Vessel,” directed the film. He also co-wrote the script with Chris Dowling (“Run the Race,” “Priceless,” “Where Hope Grows”).
Producers were Javier Chapa for Mucho Mas Media, Darren Moorman for Reserve Entertainment, Chris George for Redwood Ranch Productions, Ben Howard for Third Coast Content and Trey Reynolds for Provident Films. Provident Films co-financed the film with Endeavor Content.
Quaid, who memorably played Lindsay Lohan’s dad in “The Parent Trap” and starred in “The Big Easy,” “The Right Stuff” and “The Rookie,” is appearing next as former president Ronald Reagan in the biopic “Regan.” His recent film work includes the Universal Pictures family film “A Dog’s Journey” (the sequel to “A Dog’s Purpose”) and Roland Emmerich’s war epic “Midway.” Quaid is currently filming “American Underdog” for Lionsgate, which tells the story of NFL quarterback Kurt Warner.

NASHVILLE, TENN. (JANUARY 27, 2021) Provident Entertainment has announced the new hiring of Megan Joyce as Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs to their team. Formally Senior VP, Business and Legal Affairs at Roc Nation in New York, NY, Joyce joins Provident Entertainment with more than 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. She has held top roles at Warner Music Nashville and Atlantic Records, and began her music career in sales and marketing with EMI Music Distribution.
